Our world sees practicality as gospel truth. If it doesn't make you money or make you stronger it's not worth your effort. For the longest time I believed this too. I found out the hard way the value of having a dead end job and spending money irresponsibly. I learned the importance of being late and being honest. But in the midst of all the black and white, I lost passion and drive. Finding myself in the middle of an over-saturated market of highly skilled and talented artists, actors and actresses, film makers, and musicians I began to doubt my own ability. I religiously watched my post and video likes and views reveling as the numbers went up, and hating the stillness. Tending to the trends, I tried to be someone I wasn't just to please a crowd that didn't exist.
Through martial arts I reflected my life. I became obsessed with practical technique yet remained confused by it. Why were there so many techniques that moved differently yet accomplished the same goal? Does this render some of them worthless? But practicality states that everything must be learned in order to understand an opponent's tactics and for different situations and body types and thought patterns etc. My spirit grew tired again lacking interest and drive. It wasn't until later I started forgetting about practical principles and started expressing whatever techniques I felt. I realized, through this, that practicality cannot be told or defined. For if it makes a person weak, despite what everyone else has said, it is not conducive to learning or growth. Only if it leads to the accomplishment of goals is it practical.
In the end, don't force yourself to do things other people have told you to do if you know they won't work. Save some heartache. Find YOUR way of accomplishing goals. Only you truly know you. Be honest with your limitations and stretch them to no end. Be mindful of others, but don't become their product. These things I try to live by every day.

Red and Blue Fighter
This was one of the first concepts that led me to drawing fewer humans and more…not humans. Gatchaman, Battle of the Planet's, G-force, Eagle Riders inspired. The Blue Fighter is a bat-tu (like bat-two).

So it's taken me this long to realize that I can't draw humans worth a poo, and to start drawing what I want (and what I think people want). I've drawn a Voltron-esque team of bear-rus (yes I've named them so shoot me). They were going to be part of an animated series buuuuut let's just roll with the punches here and see where this goes.
